on/offshore training and competence standards

OIL AND GAS SECTOR (OPITO)

work in the sector by qualifying as a specialised workforce

OPITO Training

OPITO is an independent Accreditation Body with a worldwide regulatory role in the oil and gas industry. It works closely with the market and qualifies/controls OPITO Training Centres, which are authorised by them to deliver on/offshore training and competence standards.

OPITO Certification enables and qualifies trainees to work as crew members on offshore vessels and/or to provide services on board them. It is the indispensable complement to any other training as it is the only one that allows access to a job in this sector. There are no other requirements except the basic ones: to be of legal age and in good health.

All OPITO Certificates are valid for 4 years and will continue to be valid for as long as they are renewed with the appropriate course before they expire.

OPITO courses are intensive, practical and dynamic. They are grouped according to specialities and are related to each other, whether for training or training:

1. To deal with emergencies at sea (BOSIET, FOET, HUET).

2. To become familiar with the Occupational Risks of the Oil Sector (IMIST and MIST) and/or.

3. To work in the sector by qualifying as a specialised workforce (Rigger, Slinger, Banksman and similar).

These basic courses can be complemented with other specialities depending on the requirements of the companies in their different areas of operation. This is why the BOSIET course may require additional training for an adequate escape in case of emergency (Escape Chute) or specific knowledge to react to all types of incidents with gases (H2S).

The BOSIET Certification is offered in classroom or hybrid mode (DD BOSIET), with online theory in English, which saves time and accommodation costs.

CA EBS and EBS are related to the waistcoats used in helicopter transfers. Currently in force is the CA EBS (MK50 BCD) which incorporates compressed air and therefore requires special initial diving-type physical preparation.
