Port Authorities

the necessary facilities to be able to train all the staff of the Port Authorities of Spain

Port Authorities

State Ports is an organization that acts under the dependence and supervision of the MITMA Ministry, with powers of coordination and efficiency control of the state-owned port system, which is made up of 46 ports of general interest, managed by 28 Port Authorities.

Each Port Authority looks after the interests of its Port Community and shares with it the technical, administrative and training needs of its area.

In 1996, Stier Group inaugurated its first Training Center, the  Maritime Studies of the Atlantic Center (CEMA), and since then there have been many Training Programs that have been designed to suit the needs of the Port Authorities of Las Palmas and Tenerife, and also the one of the Triennial Program that was carried out for the Consignees Association of Las Palmas (Asocelpa 1997-2000).

An activity that was complemented by the training actions that CEMA carried out with UNCTAD, in favor of the training of Port Authorities in French-speaking West Africa under the TRAINMAR and TRAINFORTRADE programs. From  then to today our training experience has been growing and we can proudly say that the current “Stier Training Center” in Gran Canarias is the only Training Center that has not only the technical knowledge, but also the necessary facilities to be able to train all the staff of the Port Authorities of Spain.
