Stier Group is a faithful participant in the FIMAR Fair in Gran Canaria since its launch by the organizers in 2011. At the beginning, our presence was with the CEMA Stand (Maritime Studies Center of the Atlantic) where our port maritime training was promoted, among others the Specialization Courses in this sector. Over the years we have supported safe navigation in recreational boats and excited the little ones by creating several games to introduce them to our maritime world.
With FIMAR 2016 our participation changed into Stier Group and our stand was adapted to our new training offer, focused on the prevention of occupational risks and the response to maritime emergencies. A training that we provide today at Stier Training Centre, Taliarte, under international GWO, OPITO and STCW accreditations. These are professional certifications that worldwide open the doors to work in the sectors with greatest demand for qualified personnel: Wind/Renewable Energy, Oil and Port-Maritime.
FIMAR 2023 was held from June 16 to 18 at the Santa Catalina Cruise terminal and its organizers: the Sea City Council and the Canary Islands Fair Institution (INFECAR) together with its sponsors: HE. Cabildo of Gran Canaria, HE. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council and the Port Authority, La Luz and Las Palmas Port, brought together a great diversity of professionals from the maritime-port sector with a total of 81 exhibiting stands, of which, 56 were companies from the maritime world.
In this edition, Stier Group participated by offering live First Aid Practices, for adults and children, with the aim that they can save lives in their family environment. An action complementedwith a visit to the Miguel de Cervantes Maritime Rescue Tug, the Spanish Navy ship Relámpago and the SAR Helicopters.
