1. 1. Duration: 24h – 3 days –  Theory and practical sessions in the Centre.
   2. Description: This Training Programme aims to prepare the learners for the next stage of the progression path to becoming a competent rigger.
   3. Objective: The aim and objectives of the OPITO Rigger Initial Training Programme are to provide the learner with knowledge of the rigging principles, general hazards and risks of rigging and lifting operations, an awareness of relevant legislation and regulation, and an opportunity to practice basic rigging operations following a lifting plan.
   4. Requirements: Company approval medical certificate equivalent to an offshore medical certificate.
   5. Content/Modules:

• • • • To achieve rigger training, the student must complete the 2 mandatory units:- OIS-198 – The Role of the Rigger and an Introduction to Lifting Operations.
      • OIS-199 – Rigging and Lifting Operations After successful completion of the OPITO Initial Rigger Training Program, the trainee can go to the job site to work under the direct supervision of a competent person, to complete the Rigger Workplace Experience Record Book.

Certification: OPITO certificate valid for two years.
