In 1994 our activities started out under the name of Stier & Co, as P&I Correspondents and Claims Adjusters offering services to the P&I Clubs in the Canary Islands.
As a result of our P&I activity a high demand for training led it in the market which for, in 1996 we launched our first training center “CEMA” (Centro Estudios Marítimos del Atlántico), focused to train next generations in the maritime studies.
In 1998 “Stier Ship Agency” was set up as Stier Maritime Services and in 2015, the Founder Ida Stier decided to consolidate services in one sole private company based in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, offering maritime and training services. In August 2015, both companies merged into “Grupo Stier”.
Currently the maritime services are provided in our Head Office next to the port area in Las Palmas (Stier Maritime Services), while courses are delivered in our own training Centre built on an openair plot of 3000 m2 in Taliarte port, Melenara, (Stier Training Centre).
Today Stier Training Centre, Grupo Stier, is the first private centre in Spain whose professional training is opening doors to the 3 industries representing the largest number of work opportunities. Training accredited by the Organisations and Authorities worldwide recognised.
Close to our 30th anniversary we are striding confidently towards our future, more linked than ever to our principles and values, to continue expanding our humanitarian work wherever the market’s needs are and the technology support us.
