Prioritise safety and wellbeing in offshore with our Prevention of Occupational Risks courses! While requirements may vary from company to company, investing in occupational safety training is always a smart and highly recommended decision.

Our offer includes two specialised courses, the IMIST (International Minimum Industry Safety Training) and MIST (Minimum Industry Safety Training) courses are training

programmes designed by OPITO (Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organization) to provide workers in the oil and gas industry with the necessary safety skills and knowledge to work safely in offshore environments.

Target group

The IMIST (International Minimum Industry Safety Training) course is aimed at a wide range of people working or planning to work in the oil and gas industry, as well as related environments such as the power industry and maritime industry. This course focuses on providing basic safety training that is recognised and accepted worldwide. The target groups of the IMIST course are described below:

  1. Oil and gas industry workers: IMIST is designed for all levels of employees in the industry, from field workers to supervisory and management personnel. This includes technicians, operators, engineers, maintenance personnel, logistics and others.
  2. New employees and contractors: Many companies in the industry require new employees and contractors to demonstrate successful completion of the IMIST course before being allowed to work on oil and gas installations.
  3. Occupational health and safety personnel: Occupational health and safety professionals working in the oil and gas industry can also benefit from the IMIST course to understand and apply workplace safety standards and procedures.
  4. Energy industry personnel: Although the main focus is the oil and gas industry, IMIST is also relevant for those working in other sectors of the energy industry, such as offshore wind and nuclear power.
  5. Maritime industry personnel: The IMIST course is applicable to those working in the maritime industry who need to understand the safety standards and practices related to navigation and operation at sea.

Objective

The fundamental objective of the IMIST (International Minimum Industry Safety Training) course is to establish a global standard in the prevention of occupational hazards in the offshore oil and gas industry. It was developed with the aim of ensuring that all workers, regardless of their geographical location or mother tongue, acquire a uniform level of occupational safety knowledge.

The IMIST course aims to reduce accidents in offshore and offshore environments by providing participants with the skills and awareness necessary to identify and mitigate occupational hazards. By setting a common standard in safety, IMIST aims to minimise risks on board oil and gas installations, ensuring that all workers are properly trained to operate safely in these challenging conditions.
