Software provider Visual Trans offers a new system for declaring maritime cargo

By Naucher

Visual Trans, a software provider for the logistics and international trade sector, announces that its customers are now operating seamlessly under the Import Control System 2 (ICS2). The system will replace the current ENS shipment and marks a significant transformation by requiring advance information on cargo destined for the European Union. Designed to strengthen border security, this system replaces previous processes with a more advanced and demanding model.

This is a more complex system, with a higher level of information and which enables the declaration of more profiles of companies involved in the process. Visual Trans has allocated a significant volume of technical and human resources to achieve its implementation within the established deadlines and to guarantee at all times the viability of communications in this new scenario.

The deployment window varies depending on the role played in the new system. Once the deployment window has been requested, it will have the following timeframes:

For maritime carriers from June 3, 2024 to December 4, 2024.
For operators submitting information at house level in maritime traffic, from 4 December 2024 to 1 April 2025.
For rail, ferry and road transport operators: from 1 April 2025 to 1 September 2025.
Thanks to this development, Visual Trans has ensured that its clients can adapt to the new system without any disruption to their daily operations and within the timeframes established by the regulations. “We know that these transitions represent a challenge for companies in the sector, which is why we have worked hard to offer solutions and support that allow our clients to meet deadlines and requirements, ensuring a successful transition,” explains Alfonso Cascudo, implementation consultant at Visual Trans.
