This award recognizes her career, effort and know-how over 30 years in the elite of important sectors such as maritime, wind and oil
The founder, CEO and leader of the Stier Group, will receive, on December 12 in the capital of Gran Canaria, the Special Institutional Award, in the XXVIII edition Ports of Las Palmas. A unanimous decision in the voting. Something that constitutes a magnificent culmination to the year that represents the 30th Anniversary of the Stier Group.
For the first time, the Ports of Las Palmas Awards will replace their bronze awards with another figure made of recycled plastic and wood, recovered from the port industry.
Ida Stier, among other awards, also holds the title of “Adopted Daughter of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria”, for the internationalization of the company. On the other hand, since 2023 this Group is certified within “Women Owned Business by Weconnect International” with solvency, solera and prestige in difficult markets. Recognized, for 3 consecutive years, in 29th place in the world ranking, among the 100 most influential women in the maritime sector.
The process of growth and success of Grupo Stier, over 30 years, in a sector as difficult as the maritime sector, has been achieved by the rigor and professionalism when working and the closeness in the treatment mainly in training courses, as well as in maritime services as P&I correspondent, consignee and surveyor and inspections.
For Ida Stier, training has always been fundamental. During all these years of work, effort and rigor, she has noticed that there have been incidents at sea that could have been avoided if these people had been well trained. For this reason, in these 30 years, it has devoted itself to having a leading training center and in the world elite, contributing significantly to the preparation of more than 50% of the professionals currently operating in Spanish ports.
Something that has repercussions and feeds different “business and social layers” and that is also reflected in professionals who know how to act in case of emergency, in different aspects, both to solve the problem and to avoid it; as well as in companies that are grateful to have their staff prepared and with the official certification required by international regulations.
In its high level training center “Stier Training Centre” in Taliarte, Gran Canaria, there are many visits from professionals from other countries, who when they see the facilities in Taliarte and are interested in the training courses that the Stier Group expands -every time a new update is released-, congratulate the members of the team, for being at the forefront of maritime training.
In order to continue growing and evolving, they are committed to “joining hands” and forming alliances with others, from public bodies to other companies and individuals. This is beneficial for Spain, mainly for the Canary Islands. The only thing missing is that the public administrations get involved and want to give the support that a company like the Stier Group could have.
It is still a young company, with its 30 years, so the challenges facing Stier are to continue to expand the training offered, such as courses, including in recent times.
Stier carries out the work as the first day he started to do it but intends to continue, with enthusiasm, rigor, knowledge and desire, many more years.
